Fire Heavily Damages Home, Two Displaced

A passerby called 911 to report the blaze.

A home in the 1000 block of Rockwell Church Road was extensively damaged during a Friday night fire.

A passerby called 911 just before midnight on Dec. 20 to report the blaze.

"Firefighters attempted to make an interior attack but due to the amount of fire in the attic, and possible collapse, they had to fight the fire from the exterior of the home," said Barrow County Emergency Services public information officer Lt. Scott Dakin in a released statement. "The home suffered extensive damage to the roof and interior."

Two adults were displaced as a result of the fire. The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
