Home Fire is Contained to Garage

At 3:20 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 1, Barrow County Emergency Services received a 911 call reporting a structure fire in the 1100 block of Emperor Lane.

A fire Thursday was contained to the garage of a home on Emperor Lane.

At 3:20 p.m., communication officers with received a 911 call reporting a structure fire in the 1100 block of Emperor Lane.

Engines 4 and 5, Ladder 7, Med 6 and Battalion 1 were dispatched to the call, and first arriving firefighters found smoke showing from the garage.

“Firefighters made an aggressive interior attack and were able to knock the fire down very quickly,” Lt. Scott Dakin, public information officer, said in a news release.

Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the garage area of the home. The origin of the fire was determined to be in the area of a recently repaired golf cart. The scene was left intact for further investigation by interested parties and the fire investigation team.  The fire was discovered by a resident of the home.
