Firefighters Make 'Quick, Aggressive Attack' on House Fire

Six adults displaced as a result of the fire.

An Amalie Drive home sustained extensive smoke damage Wednesday night, but fire damage was limited due to quick actions by firefighters.

Barrow County Emergency Services crews were dispatched to the home just before 8 p.m. on Dec. 4.

“Firefighters found smoke showing and heavy fire in one room in the rear of the home,” said BCES public information officer Lt. Scott Dakin in a released statement. "They made a very quick, aggressive attack on the fire and were able to stop the fire from spreading any further.”

Six adults were displaced as a result of the fire. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
