A resident was able to put out the fire using a fire extinguisher.

Barrow County Emergency Services personnel believe a house fire Wednesday was set intentionally.

Just before 7:30 p.m., communication officers received a 911 call reporting a house fire in the 800 block of Kendall Park Drive. Ladder 7 and Med 7 responded.

“Upon arrival firefighters found the resident had been able to extinguish the fire using a fire extinguisher,” said Lt. Scott Dakin, spokesman for BCES. “A small area of the vinyl siding on the outside of the home was damaged as a result of the fire.”
