Winder Family Dollar Employee Thwarts Would-be Shoplifter

The employee told Winder police he chased the man out of the store.

A would-be thief should have shopped a different Winder retailer.

According to a incident report, a white male with brown hair and a beard wearing a camouflage jacket walked out of the Family Dollar store on North Broad Street on Feb. 5, 2012, with three DVD players — all without paying.

An employee told the responding officer he chased the would-be thief down the sidewalk and knocked the boxes out of his hands. The subject got away but left behind his loot. The DVD players were each valued at $30.
