Suspect Denies Taking Nail Clippers Even before Officer Mentions Any Items Had Been Stolen

A Dollar Store manager said the suspect stuffed the nail clippers down her bra.

According to an incident report, a Winder woman knew exactly why an officer showed up at her residence and asked if she had just been to the store at 155 W. Athens St.

"I did not steal no [expletive deleted] ninety nine cent nail clippers, I had a hundred dollars in cash in my pocket when I was there!" the woman told the Winder police officer, who, according to the incident report, had not yet mentioned any stolen items.

Before arriving at the suspect's residence, the officer had been dispatched to the Dollar General about 7:30 p.m. Aug. 25, where the manager said she had reviewed a security tape after the shopper had left the store. The manager said she observed the woman remove nail clippers from their packaging before stuffing the merchandise into her bra.
