Bethlehem Convenience Store Clerk Reports Customer Walked Out with Beer after Midnight

The clerk told a Barrow County Sheriff's Office deputy a white male walked up to the register with a case of beer, placed money on the counter and then walked out of the store.

A Bethlehem convenience store clerk recently reported a customer walked out with beer after midnight.

A deputy was dispatched to the Kangaroo at 634 Christmas Ave. on Feb. 6, 2012, in reference to a report of a shoplifter. The convenience store clerk told the deputy a white male walked up to the register with a case of beer, placed money on the counter and then walked out of the store.

The $21 the customer left was enough to pay for the beer, had the customer actually made the purchase, the clerk said, but sale of beer after midnight is not permitted in Bethlehem.
