Check Your Cash — Counterfeit Bills Found in Circulation in Barrow County
Counterfeit bills recovered so far include fives, tens, twenties and fifties.
The Winder Police Department and the Barrow County Sheriff’s Office are currently working several cases involving counterfeit bills.
The bills are being used at businesses in the city and the county, and those recovered so far include fives, tens, twenties and fifties. According to a news release, at first glance, the bills look legitimate but the paper feels rough.
All businesses should take the time to examine all bills being passed. Any contact with counterfeit money should be reported to authorities immediately. Here are some of the serial numbers being used:
