Bus Boy Arrested for Stealing Customer's Cell Phone
A local restaurant bus boy was caught on video tape stealing a customer's phone.
Winder police responded to a call at a restaurant in the 400 block of Loganville Highway on May 25.
A female victim reported that she had left her cellular phone on the table after she left the restaurant. While responding to the call the officer was informed by dispatch that an anonymous caller reported seeing the bus boy that cleaned the table take the phone.
Officers then met with the restaurant manager and watched video surveillance of the table and the bus boy who clearly placed the dish tote on the table, in an attempt to conceal the phone, which was then taken and placed in his pocket.

Upon questioning the bus boy denied taking the phone however due to video evidence the suspect was handcuffed and advised that he was being charged. The suspect proceeded to lead officers behind the building and tell them where the phone was located. The phone was then returned to the victim.
The suspect was transported to the Barrow County Detention Center where he was held on charges of theft by taking.
