Bullbozer Stolen in Barrow Last Year Recovered in Indiana

The county's roads and bridges department was using the rented equipment to re-route Hoyt King Road when it was stolen.

A in December 2011 has been recovered in the state of Indiana. 

The county's roads and bridges department had rented the 2007 John Deere Model 450 Dozer from an equipment rental company and it was being used to re-route Hoyt King Road. 

On Tuesday, June 26, 2012, law enforcement officials in Indiana recovered the stolen machinery.

Barrow officials had placed the bulldozer’s information on the National Crime Information Center computer when it was stolen, and Indiana officials discovered the equipment while conducting a large-scale investigation regarding stolen equipment.

Since the theft, local investigators have diligently searched for the stolen bulldozer, conducted more than a dozen interviews, following up on informant information, using aerial searching resources and exhausting every available lead.

“We are proud of our investigators for their diligent work in this case, and are grateful to the Indiana authorities for their assistance," Sheriff Jud Smith said in a news release.
