Good News for Pets in Barrow County Animal Shelter: No Dogs Euthanized on Wednesday

Find out when you can visit the shelter to adopt a new furry friend.

A local organization that advocates for pets at Barrow County's animal shelter shared some good news on Facebook — no dogs were euthanized at the facility Wednesday, July 17.

The post by Saving Barrow County Animal Control Pets reads:

NO DOGS WERE EUTHANIZED TODAY!!! This is because of all of you! Thank you so much!! Can't wait to see this place once all the applications have been processed!
But... anyone on last week's list is still in danger if the shelter fills back up once the applications are processed. Please don't wait until Monday or Tuesday to network for these guys. They need help BEFORE the 11th hour. -- Tamela

If you are interested in adopting a pet, shelter hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, and from 1 to 5 p.m. Wednesdays. According to Saving Barrow County Animal Control Pets, the shelter requires all animals to be spoken for and paperwork submitted by 4:30 p.m. Tuesdays to ensure they are not euthanized on Wednesdays.
