Barrow County Candlelight Vigil

We had an incredible turnout at the Barrow County Candlelight Vigil tonight.  It was an evening full of sorry and success, candlelight and hope, allies and survivors.
We spent time honoring the victims and survivors of domestic violence.  The retired Chief of Police for Winder PD read the names of the 62 people who have lost their lives in domestic violence incidents since last October.  Their ages ranged from 5 years old to 80 years old.

We also brought special attention to the 3 people who have been killed in our tri-county area in the last year.

We got to hear from a survivor and her daughter about their experience and about their successful lives now.

We are hoping to collect pictures and video from the evening and post them on our Facebook page and here on our blog.

If you attended our event tonight and have comments or reflections, please comment here.  We would love to hear from you!
