Letter to the Editor: Why Try to Change Barrow County?

A Facebook user responds to a previous letter to the editor.

Editor's note: The following was posted on Barrow Patch's Facebook page in response to the Sept. 13 post "Letter to the Editor: Not Enough Diversity in Barrow County School System."

I think that when people move to Barrow County they need to leave the way we live alone, and quit trying to change us and our lifestyle. They need to leave our schools alone. There is a reason why people move out here, so why try to change it??? My family and I moved here ten years ago, and there is nothing that we would change. We love the quietness, the togetherness and the scenery. The schools are great, the teachers are great. For someone to come in and say there is no "diversity" in our schools, is greatly wrong. Why change what we have for their own agenda. If it works, leave it alone. We don't go around telling others how to live, so leave us alone. If you don't like how things are done here, then you have the right to move.
