John Scott Beatty, 62, of Winder, Ga., passed away on Saturday, Dec. 7.
Beatty, a former U.S. Army sergeant who served in Korea and Germany, was a member of Oconee Baptist Church and worked as an environmental consultant.
Beatty was preceded in death by his wife and a son. He is survived by two sons, two daughters, eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 10 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Evans Funeral Home in Jefferson, Ga.
