I have a huge amount of respect for stores that do not advertise Memorial Day sales. Even better yet, those that are closed. I'm interested to know when the sales all started. I'd like to think it began as a tribute to our troops. Good intentions, maybe? All a part of the American way to make a dollar? It still seems sad to me though. I suppose we as a society fuel the discount days. We take advantage of it. I suppose some troops do too?
I guess all that matters is we remember why we are getting those great deals.

I am forever grateful and broken-hearted for our military families' sacrifices and hope my kids will always remember the true meaning of our "day off" with bonus savings.
