Kristi Reed, the editor of the Barrow Patch, recently sent this email: "Please note: The system does not notify me when someone comments on your posts. However, you should receive notification. Blog posts are under the complete control of the author. Should anyone post an inappropriate comment, you can delete it."

In a later email, she said: "We do remove comments that violate our terms of use either when we see them or when we are notified of them."

This means my blog is my blog - not a forum for insults, lies and rumors. It also means that the blogs and blog comments on the Patch are moderated for comments that violate the terms and conditions of blogging on the Patch.

It's easy to start a blog on the Patch. If you have thoughts and opinions you wish to share, start a blog. Then you can own what you have to say and moderate the comments you get.
