This voter turnout is VERY exciting!

60 voters went to the polls on the first day of early voting in this Winder City Council run-off election. As of 11 a.m. another 16 citizens cast their votes. If another 16 went to the courthouse annex/233 E. Broad St. this afternoon, that is close to 100 votes, which is the total for the whole week of early voting in the initial election.

Everyone says it's hard to get voters back to the polls in a runoff, but it looks like Mr. Dixon and I are doing that. People also say it’s hard to beat an incumbent; based on the initial vote count, 310 Lorin - 339 Bob, this is a very close race.

It’s been a long time since Winder had a runoff and I’m proud to be a contender in this one. Let’s hope the excitement and momentum continues on through Dec. 3!
