The Winder City Council in action tonight...

Highlights from the Winder City Council mtg. tonight, all unanimous votes, minimal or no discussion. 
- Spend an additional $185,540 on the golf course, leases and equipment, making the total spent so far a whopping $1,108,540.
- Granted a variance for the Smokin' Po Boys pig sign/ mural to allow a maximum sign/mural of 185 sq. ft. = the same size as the Casey's Dawgs sign. 
- Introduced the city's new Marketing & Public Relations specialist, a young woman named Kristen Massey. 
The report from the DOT rep. indicated the mess downtown will be finished by March 2014. They will be "out of the road completely" by sometime in Dec.
Oh, also the cameras recently installed on a couple of traffic lights downtown are from the DOT. They don't record. They simply do a "loop feed." No worries, said the DOT rep.
