Experience Living History at this Weekend's Fort Yargo Colonial Market Faire

The Georgia State Park in Winder plays host to an 18th century living history festival March 30 through April 1, 2012.

Originally constructed as a trading post in the 1790s, history comes alive this weekend at Winder’s .

Marking the third annual Colonial Market Faire, this 18th century living history event will feature a cast of characters dressed in period clothing, demonstrations from talented tradesmen and artisans and activities designed to entertain the young and the young at heart. An 18th century market will boast “fine wares and provisions for the hearth and home”. For a real taste of history, attendees will want to be sure to sample “Frontier Frybread” during their visit to the faire.

Hosted at the old fort inside Fort Yargo State Park, this event is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, March 30, through Sunday, April 1. Admission to the park is $5 per car, and entry to the event is $2 per adult. Children 12 and under are admitted for free when accompanied by a paying adult.
