Statham Farmers Market Seeks Fresh Crop of Vendors

2012 season schedule released, appeal for vendors and entertainers issued.


While June may seem like a long time away for many Barrow County Public School teachers, parents and students, for Statham Farmers Market organizers Cyndi Ball of and Christine Bogenrieder of it’s just around the corner. 

June 2 marks opening day for the 2012 season of the , and with a jam-packed schedule of themed events already in the works.

Ball and Bogenrieder have issued an appeal to vendors and live entertainers alike to join their growing market “family”.

All told, the Statham Farmers Market will run 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. every Saturday along Railroad Street in historic Downtown Statham from June 2 to Aug. 25. For just $100, vendors can reserve their spot at the market throughout the season — that equates to less than $8 per week. Interested parties will want to apply quickly though, before all of the available spaces are gone.

The Statham Farmers Market also seeks bands and live entertainers who might have a talent that complements the weekly themes. The themes for this year’s farmers market series are as follows:

  • June 2 — Opening day
  • June 9 — Sustainable Living
  • June 16 — Blue Ribbon: Jams & Jellies 
  • June 23 — Dog Days
  • June 30 — Fourth of July Celebration
  • July 7 — Blue Ribbon: Peaches
  • July 14 — Heritage Day
  • July 21 — Blue Ribbon: Zucchini
  • July 28 — Healthy Living
  • Aug. 4 — Blue Ribbon: Tomatoes
  • Aug. 11 — Arts at the Market
  • Aug. 18 — Kids Day
  • Aug. 25 — Military Appreciation and last day of the market
