Shop then Take in an Outdoor Movie in Auburn This Weekend
The city is set to host a community yard sale and its first Movie in the Park for the 2012 season Saturday, April 14.
The city of Auburn kicked off its community yard sales in R.H. Burel Park just last month.
These terrific community-focused events will be hosted in the heart of downtown Auburn the second Saturday of each month, offering a terrific opportunity to meet neighbors and shop for great finds. Yard sale aficionados will surely enjoy the chance to visit lots of booths at one convenient location.
This month’s community yard sale will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 14. The cost to participate is just $10 per booth, which helps cover the cost of advertising and promotion. Participants must provide their own setups and displays. For more information or to inquire about participation, contact Parks and Leisure Director Gary Schussler at 770-674-5485 or gschussler@cityofauburn-ga.org.

Later in the day, pack your picnic blanket in the car and head back downtown to Whistlestop Park for the 2012 launch of Movies in the Park with an open air screening of Back to the Future. This classic family-friendly movie starring Michael J. Fox begins at sundown.
Which do you prefer — community yard sales or movies in the park? Or does the combination of both equate to the perfect spring day for you and your family? Tell us in comments.
