Lift Your Voices and Holiday Spirits at R.H. Burel Park on Saturday

The city of Auburn will host a family-friendly "Sounding of the Christmas Season" event on Nov. 19.

As Thanksgiving draws closer, we know Christmas can’t be far behind.

The city of Auburn invites friends, families and neighbors from far and near to ring in the holidays during the “Sounding of the Christmas Season” event Saturday, Nov. 19.

The festivities for this fun, free, family-friendly gathering kick off at 4 p.m. at R.H. Burel Park on Fourth Avenue in the heart of downtown Auburn. As the daylight fades to night, voices and holiday spirits will rise with the time-honored tradition of singing Christmas carols, followed by a holiday lighting ceremony and a winter Movie in the Park. A little elf told Patch there might just be a surprise visit from a very special guest, so don’t forget your cameras and your holiday wish lists. If you plan to stay for the Movie in the Park, be sure to pack lawn chairs and plenty of blankets.
