Leave a Lasting Impression Honoring a Veteran during Statham’s Fourth of July Celebration

Only a few days remain to order a memorial brick for the veterans' park dedication that will take place Wednesday, July 4, 2012.

A little more than a week into spring 2012 and plans are already under way to commemorate one of the biggest summertime holidays in the city of Statham.

While much of the day’s events are still taking shape, this year’s Fourth of July celebration will include the dedication of the much-anticipated . A major part of that dedication will feature the unveiling of dozens of memorial bricks honoring those who have selflessly served this country.

To ensure a brick honoring your loved one is in place in time for the dedication, your order form must be turned in by Saturday, March 31. Memorial brick orders will still be accepted after March 31, but there can be no guarantee that they will be laid within the park by July 4.

Bricks are offered in two sizes: a 4-by-8 brick for $30 each or an 8-by-8 brick for $100. Order forms are available for download here on Barrow Patch or for pick up at and the Statham American Legion.

Once completed, the Statham Veterans Memorial Park will be located on Railroad Street near the gazebo in the heart of historic downtown.  Drawings of the plans are currently on display at Statham City Hall.
