Keep it Clean, Statham

April 7 signals the start of "Clean Up Week" in the local Barrow County city.

If you are a resident of Statham, it’s likely you received a postcard announcing Clean Up Week recently in the mail.

Each year for one week in April, the city sponsors Clean Up Week in connection with the Great American Cleanup and . This year, the event falls on the week of April 7 through 14.

During Clean Up Week, the city of Statham furnishes Dumpsters and encourages residents who live within city limits to help “clean up”. Throughout the week, residents are asked to bring their Clean Up Week postcard with them, along with solid waste, scrap metal, tires ($5 per regular tire, $9 per truck tire and $13 per tractor), refrigerators (free of Freon/coolants), small electronics, document shredding and more.

Residents are asked to not bring household garbage or yard waste and to limit items to two pick-up truck loads. Dumpsters can be accessed from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. for the duration of Clean Up Week.
