Carmike Cinemas

Feel like adding some popcorn and movie magic to the day?  If you want to catch a movie on Thanksgiving, Carmike Cinemas (770-791-0193) will be open. The theater is located at 416 Exchange Boulevard in Bethlehem. Click here for showtimes.

Walgreens

The Walgreens (678-425-6954) located at 10 East May Street will be open from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. The pharmacy inside Walgreens will be closed on Thanksgiving Day.

Ingles

The Ingles grocery stores located at 285 N. Broad Street in Winder (770-867-9723) and 1528 Atlanta Highway in Auburn (770-682-8433) will be open during regular operating hours.

CVS Pharmacy

The pharmacy at CVS may be your best bet if you need a prescription on the holiday as it will be open from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. CVS has stores at 1685 Atlanta Highway in Auburn (770-682-7053) and 6 West May Street in Winder (770-867-7407). The stores will be open for regular operating hours on Thanksgiving Day.

Walmart

The Winder Walmart will be open on Thanksgiving Day. Black Friday specials begin at 6 p.m. The store is located at 440 Atlanta Highway (770-867-8642).

Target

Target’s Thanksgiving Day store hours are 8 p.m. until 11:59 p.m. Black Friday sales begin at midnight. Target is located at 916 Loganville Highway (678-975-3060).

Staples

Staples will be open on Thanksgiving Day from 8 p.m. until midnight. The office supply retailer kicks off Black Friday sales at 6 a.m. on Nov. 29. The store is located at 916 Loganville Highway in Bethlehem (770-307-2044).

Michaels

The arts and craft supply store will open on Thanksgiving at 4 p.m. Michaels is located at 916 Loganville Highway (770-307-0213).

Places Open Near Barrow County:

Mall of Georgia

The Mall of Georgia, located at 3333 Buford Drive in Buford, will open at 8 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day and remain open until 10 p.m. on Black Friday.

Stars and Strikes Getaway-n-Play

Work off all that turkey while bowling at Stars and Strikes in Dacula. Stars and Strikes will be open from 3 p.m. until Midnight on Thanksgiving Day. Stars and Strikes is located at 1700 Winder Highway in Dacula. For more information, visit their website or call 678-965-5707. 

Kohl’s

The Dacula Kohl’s, located at 2270 Hamilton Creek Parkway, will open at 8 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day. Black Friday sales begin at midnight.

Best Buy

Best Buy will open at 6 p.m. on Thanksgiving and remain open until 11:59 p.m. Black Friday sales commence at midnight. The Buford Best Buy is located at 3205 Woodward Crossing Boulevard, Suite A (770-614-0533).

Toys R Us

Toys R Us is scheduled to open at 5 p.m. on Thanksgiving. Black Friday sales begin at midnight. Toys R Us is located at 3480 Financial Center Way in Buford (678-714-6152).

J.C. Penney

Located inside the Mall of Georgia, J. C. Penney’s (770-831-0252) Thanksgiving Day operating hours are 8 p.m. until 11:59 p.m. Black Friday sales begin at midnight.

Lake Lanier Island Resort's Magical Nights of Lights

This spectacular display features miles of holiday lights and illuminated scenery. Stop in at the resort’s Holiday Village where visitors can roast marshmallows, play carnival games and do a little holiday shopping as well. Tickets are available online or at the resort gates. Please be aware that additional charges apply to Santa photos, amusements and activities within the Holiday Village. The Magical Nights of Lights will run from Nov. 15 through Dec. 31.

The Versailles Restaurant at Chateau Elan

Make reservations to dine at the Thanksgiving Buffet at Chateau Elan's Versailles Restaurant. This annual buffet is available from 12:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. The price for adults is $65 and $29 for children. Reservations are required, call 678-425-0900 x 6181.
