Five Things to Do this Weekend from Dec. 16-18: Local Churches Celebrate the Christmas Season

Three local churches will host events celebrating the Christmas holiday this weekend.

  • When and where: 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, at Winder First United Methodist Church
  • Why go: To enjoy the Christmas Cantata "Lead Me Back to Bethlehem"
  • Cost: Free to attend

  • When and where: 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 18, at the
  • Why go: To enjoy a Christmas musical
  • Cost: Free to attend

  • When and where: 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 18, at
  • Why go: To take an active approach to the holiday season by running the 5K or taking part in the fun run
  • Cost: $20 per participant

  • When and where: 8 a.m. to noon and 2 to 6 p.m Saturday, Dec. 17, at
  • Why go: Parents can let their children enjoy crafts, games and movies while taking some time to finish shopping and make other preparations for the holidays
  • Cost: $5 for the first child in a family and $3 for any additional children, with proceeds going to Toys for Tots

  • When and where: 2:30 p.m. today, Dec. 16, Saturday, Dec. 17, and Sunday, Dec. 18
  • Why go: To take in this family-favorite holiday ballet
  • Cost: $13.50 to $29.50
