Today marks just one month since the sun set on the 2011 Star Festival in Bethlehem, but plans are already under way to make its return in 2012 even better.

According to Town Manager Kathy Bridges, more than 1,000 people attended this year’s festival to enjoy a fun fall day filled with arts and crafts created by artisans from all over the region, as well as live entertainment and kid-friendly activities. The town council voted for construction of an event stage this year, which will save the town money on future events.

Following its debut in 2005, the Bethlehem Star Festival has since become a favorite event among residents and visitors of the area. Scheduled for the second Saturday of October each year, next year’s Star Festival will fall on Oct. 13, 2012. Scheduling for the Star Festival typically begins in January of each year, but if you’d like to get the jump on next year’s Star Festival by securing a spot for your craft, business, organization or food vendor booth, the 2012 application is already available for download online at the town of Bethlehem's website.

Friendly reminder — Don’t forget to cast your vote in Bethlehem’s Municipal General Election today. Incumbent Councilman Scott Morgan, local businessman and former Councilman all vie for the Post 4 seat at the council table. Incumbent Mayor Sandy McNab and incumbent council member Wayne Ridgeway of Post 2 are both running unopposed for re-election.
