First Gallery Show of the Season a Success

The first gallery show of the 2014 season at the Georgia Piedmont Arts Center (GPAC) in Auburn, went off without a hitch this past Friday and Saturday.  

There was great diversity of work and all skill levels were represented. 

Guest Judge, art instructor and talented artist Bobbie Austin, made her selections on Friday and awards were revealed at the show opening on Friday evening.  Best of Show honors went to Larry Lucas of Lithonia for his watercolor painting, “Hawaiian Hibiscus”.  Two Dimensional awards went to Mia Rodriquez of Braselton (First Place) and John Saude of Lawrenceville (Second Place).  Three Dimensional awards went to Jo Cooper of Hoschton (First Place) and Myrna Trapp of Monroe (Second Place).  Honorable mention awards were received by Mia Rodriquez of Braselton, Jo Cooper of Hoschton, Renee Hewitt of Winder and Janet Jeanes of Auburn.
