There's Still Time to Donate School Supplies
A local organization is gearing up for its Tuesday Back to School Bash but donations are still being accepted.
Staff and volunteers with Barrow County Family Connection/Communities in Schools will be filling book bags with school supplies today for children in the Barrow community who are in need — but there's still time to donate!
The organization is in need of book bags, pencils, crayons, loose leaf notebook paper, composition notebooks, glue sticks and other basic school supplies for its Back to School Bash on Tuesday evening. Anyone who wishes to donate can drop off supplies until 5 p.m. today at the Barrow County Family Connection/Communities in Schools office, which is located at 34 Village Court, No. 147, in Winder.
"We never have enough," Melinda Shealey said of the donations, adding most parents who come to the Back to School Bash seeking supplies want book bags.
If you can't donate now, Barrow County Family Connection/Communities in Schools accepts donations of school supplies year-round.
