Pink Donation Bags are Not Connected to Local Organization Peace Place
The bags have been left at homes throughout Barrow County asking residents to donate items
If you find a pink donation bag at your door asking you to help battered women and children, it didn't come from Peace Place, a local organization that assists victims of domestic violence.
Peace Place posted the following information on its Facebook page:
We have become aware that these bags have been placed on houses throughout our coverage area. Any items collected this way will NOT be used by Peace Place and will not be donated to women, children and men in our area. Please help us get the word out that Peace Place accepts donations at the Peace Place Thrift Store and a pick-up can be scheduled.
If you would like to donate to Peace Place, which serves the local area, call the organization's administrative line at 770-307-3633 or drop items off at the Peace Place Thrift Store at 339 Highway 82 S. in Jefferson.
