Community Theater Group Gives to Kids in Need and So Can You
The Barrow County Food2Kids program was the recipient of a check from the Winder-Barrow Community Theatre, proceeds from its latest production.
Winder-Barrow Community Theatre recently presented a check to the Barrow County Food2Kids program.
The $260 donation was taken from proceeds from the recent production "Wingin' It!" in July.
The community theater group donates proceeds from each show to a different local nonprofit organization.
Food2Kids is a partnership between the Northeast Georgia Food Bank and Barrow County Schools. This program provides a bag of kid-friendly food for needy children in the who may go hungry over the weekends. During the 2012-13 school year, more than 150 students were helped, but there were 55 students who did not get any weekend food because there was not enough money donated to the program.
