Barrow County Man Wins $80K in Georgia Lottery Instant Game

A Barrow County man plans to use his Georgia Lottery winnings to pay off some bills.

Brenton Cook, 39, of Statham, won the $80,000 top prize in the Cherry, Orange & Lemon Doubler Cashword.

"I got the big winner. I couldn't believe it. I looked at it 10 times," Cook said according to a press release. "I'm still a little shocked."

Cook bought his winning ticket at the Shell Station located at 10 Patrick Mill Road in Winder.

All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs including Georgia's HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia's Pre-K Program. Since its inception, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $14.6 billion to the state for education.
