Will the REAL BOB DIXON please stand up?

It seems that some people may not know the real Bob Dixon?

You must not know the Bob Dixon I know…let me tell you who that man is…

Bob Dixon is a gentleman that I had the pleasure and honor of growing up knowing my whole life; my family’s home was 20 yards from his family’s home. Bob Dixon is the man that when his beloved wife Nancy died of cancer, he was left to raise 2 children on his own and did the very best he could for them…both of which said children, female and male, are extremely successful people today. Bob Dixon is the man that encouraged and mentored me to be and do whatever I could, that I could do anything anyone else could do, male or female…in academics, in athletics, in leadership roles in school, and eventually in my career path. Bob Dixon is the man who has supported hundreds of young people, male and female, that went through the Barrow County School System…as a coach and teacher, as a Board of Education member, as a supporter of athletics, as a community member and deacon at First Baptist Church. Bob Dixon is one of the men who helped me become the leader that I am today in my career, in the non-profit animal rescue that I co-founded, and in my family.

I treasure and cherish growing up on Green Valley Drive in Winder, going to Winder Elementary, Winder-Barrow Middle and Russell Middle Schools, and Winder-Barrow High School, and growing up in First Baptist Church of Winder…and every time I think of those places and the faces that were there, Bob Dixon is a face that I see in all of those places, and I knew that I was supported by him as did many of us that grew up in my generation in Winder. Bob Dixon is a leader in the Winder community and has the experience, knowledge, care and concern that Winder needs…I cannot imagine a Winder without Bob Dixon at the center of it.

So please allow the REAL BOB DIXON to stand up and lead the Winder City Council!
