Community Corner

TORCH (Teens Organizing Change) Conference

The Barrow County Health Department
will be participating in the TORCH (Teens Organizing Change) Conference on
Saturday, February 22, 2014 from 10:00am to 3:00pm at the University of Georgia
Health Center.
The conference is designed to train
teens to be health leaders in their communities and for UGA students to be
resources for the teens.  The topics at this year’s conference were chosen
by teens: drug use, stress management, and STD and pregnancy prevention. There
will be fun prizes given throughout the day to teens while they learn how to
make a difference in our community!

The TORCH Conference is FREE to
attend, but registration is required. Register online at http://goo.gl/3JoZM3, by calling 404-934-0619

(ask for Kiersten) or emailing krobr@uga.edu by February 19, 2014. Parking for
this event is free!
