Chinking Party

Every year we must replace the mud (chinking) on the blockhouse and beehive oven at the 'old fort located in Fort Yargo State Park
In order to do this we mix mud and straw together in a mud hole.  Kids for some reason enjoy playing in the mud, so we have an annual "chinking party" and invite all kids (young and old) to come play in the mud.  For their hard work we provide a ride to the beach to get clean and dinner.
You must be registered to participate (whether you are camping or not).  Go to http://fylhs.com and click on the "Chinking Party" link to register.
This year the park has allowed us to invite everyone to come out and camp at the "old fort" during this event.  There is a $5 a night fee.  This is a primitive camping area - water is onsite, showers available in the campgrounds.
There are a limited number of modern tents available for an extra fee.  Park entrance fee $5 (free if you have a park pass).
