Last Day for Early Voting Is Nov. 1, Early Turnout in Winder Higher Than Four Years Ago

Three cities have contested elections.

Advance voting for the Nov. 5 election is now underway and will continue through Nov. 1. Voting will take place at the Barrow County Board of Elections Office located at 233 East Broad Street in Winder from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

According to Barrow County Elections Supervisor Monica Franklin, close to 300 people have voted so far in the City of Winder election, approximately 20 in the Auburn election and only two in the City of Bethlehem post 3 race. Franklin said early turnout for the Winder race is higher than four years ago. As for the Bethlehem and Auburn races, Franklin said she suspects most voters in those towns are waiting for election day rather than making the trip to Winder for early voting.

In Winder, candidates Lorin Sinn-Clark and Nicole Tobias have challenged incumbent Bob Dixon. Bob Vogel, Donna Scouten, William Acworth, Harold Money and Jay Riemenschneider are seeking council seats in Auburn and Joe Price and C.L. Wood are running for post 3 in Bethlehem.
