Brad Kelly, an international photographer who hails from Winder, said the current market is the worst for art he has seen in his 51-year career.

Kelly was interviewed for a story on the impact of the economy on festival artists during the Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts in State College, Penn. He said economic conditions have made him more willing to negotiate with buyers on pricing and he has become more selective about which shows he attends.

Art appears to something consumers give up when the economy goes down.

"It's the first to go and the last to come back," Kelly said. "In a bad economy, they (people) can't eat art."
