Tripp Halstead Hospitalized Just Days After Returning Home

Doctors are monitoring his liver enzymes, according to a post on the Facebook page where his family provides updates. You can show your support for Tripp by dining out at a Winder restaurant today.

After being home for just three days, Tripp Halstead, a Winder toddler critically injured in October when a tree limb weighing several hundred pounds fell and struck him in the head, has been hospitalized so doctors can monitor his liver enzymes.

Tripp was transported via ambulance Monday morning, according to a post on the Facebook page where his family provides updates on his condition. His mother, Stacy Halstead, posted a couple hours later that Tripp had undergone X-rays and lab tests and was preparing for an ultrasound.

"So basically we are here for observation and more blood tests tomorrow," Stacy Halstead wrote in an update about 9 p.m. Monday. "If his liver enzymes go down or stay the same I think they will send us home, if they go up, we have a problem and will be here a while."
