'Transformers 3' Should Be a Megatron Mega Hit
Star-studded and action packed, "Transformers 3," in 3D, heads to the moon and back with the entire human race facing total destruction.
Autobots and Decepticons face off in this apocalyptic tale called "Transformers: Dark of the Moon."
Shia LaBeouf plays Sam Witwicky once again — this time he is looking for work, and finding nothing but trouble in this film by director Michael Bay. Megan Fox, from the first two movies, is not in this film after she allegedly compared Bay to Hitler. I think executive producer Steven Spielberg had something to do with that.
In any event, Shia has a new hottie, super model Rose Huntington-Whiteley. Together they face death and destruction after an Apollo moon landing conspiracy comes to light. Now the Autobots (the good guys) and the Decepticons (the bad guys) duke it out for a very important energy source left onboard the alien spacecraft that crashed on the moon. It has sex, violence, action and it should be a big hit with moviegoers.

The star-studded supporting cast includes franchise favorites Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson and John Tuturro. Also on board for this third installment is John Malkovich, Frances McDormand, Ken Jeong (of "Hangover" fame) and Patrick Dempsey. Acting is not what is important in this film, it's all about giant robots that change into cars and trucks, that fly around, fight and blow stuff up.
Of the three "Transformers" movies to date, this one is the best. There is not much to criticize here — what you see is what you get, as shown in the clips of my video review. Thankfully, it is easy to follow even if you are not into the whole "Transformers" story. It is good guys and bad guys fighting over earth and not much more as for as a storyline goes.

The only issue I have is that the film is 154 minutes long. The first two hours are great, but the last 30 minutes dragged a bit. The total destruction of Chicago was my favorite part, but the length of the film got in the way of a good thing.
The flick-o-meter gives "Transformers: Dark of the Moon" a four out of five. The CGI and the 3D technology is amazing. It is fast paced, and the action was dizzying at times. It was, however, just too long.
So now you know before you go. Please check out my video movie review here. See you at the movies!
