SWAT Team Arrests Man After Stabbing — Buckhead Patch

The Atlanta Police department confirmed that one man was taken into custody after a Saturday morning standoff in which the SWAT team was called to assist.

According to the AJC, "a domestic dispute led to a stabbing," early Saturday morning.  Sgt. Gregory Lyon has said that the victim is in stable condition with a wound to the chest area.

Streetcar Project Begins to Take Shape — East Atlanta Patch

he construction crunch on Edgewood Avenue is beginning to give way to what eventually will be the Atlanta Streetcar.

The $90 million project, which is expected to go into service next year, will create a rail route that links Old Fourth Ward to Centennial Olympic Park Downtown.

Mental Facility Employee Reportedly Kicks Man With Dementia — East Cobb Patch

An employee at a Smyrna facility for mentally challenged and disabled adults allegedly kicked a man with dementia in the groin area three times.

The man was sitting on the floor with his arms raised and his legs spread apart when Edward Perez Neal of East Cobb allegedly kicked him in attempt to get him "to stand up," according to a Cobb County criminal warrant.

Movie Shooting in East Atlanta Needs 'Hipsters' — East Atlanta Patch

The movie "Endless Love" which recently called for a photo double is now looking for "hipsters" when the project films in East Atlanta in early May.
