Statham Railroad Crossing Set to Close from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Today

The Georgia Department of Transportation is scheduled to install permanent striping at the crossing,

The railroad crossing at Ga. Highway 211 in downtown Statham is set to close today.  

The Georgia Department of Transportation is expected to install permanent striping at the crossing from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., weather permitting. The detour route will direct vehicles to use the Eighth Street railroad crossing then turn onto Broad Street and back onto Ga. Highway 211.

The DOT completed work last week to  by four inches approaching the crossing.

According to the news release, , vehicles still had trouble using the railroad crossing.
