Pets of the Week: Two Dogs in Need of Forever Homes

Find the next furry member of your family here.

A Staffordshire terrier and a chihuahua mix are awaiting their forever homes at Barrow County Animal Control. Read the descriptions to see if one of these pets is right for your family.

  • A dark brown, female Staffordshire terrier, about 4 to 5 years old. She weighs in at 55 pounds. She is a big ol' lap dog. She is not spayed and was used as a breeder dog. The poor girl has had her ears mangled by someone.   Animal control has no background information on her.
  • A brown and black, male chihuahua mix, about 5 years old. He weighs in at about 12 pounds. He is good with dogs, cats and people of all ages. He was dropped off at the shelter by his owner.  He's a good catch because he's already house broken.

The adoption fee for all cats and dogs is $100. The fee includes spay or neuter, a physical exam, a fecal exam, de-worming, a rabies vaccine, a distemper/parvo vaccine and micro-chipping.

For more information on these or other pets, call the shelter at 770-307-3012. Shelter hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
