Apalachee Student Shines on Stage

Miranda Parker inspires both on and off the stage.

Miranda Parker recently graced the stage at in Mmmbeth, a parody of William Shakespeare's tragedy Macbeth.

"She is a genuinely creative person — an inspiration both on and off the stage," said Julie Garanyi, who nominated Miranda.

Miranda started acting in community theater when she was in first grade. Her first role was a butterfly in a performance of Alice in Wonderland. This past summer, Miranda shared her skills and knowledge as a drama camp counselor.

Miranda is also an artist and photographer and enjoys experimenting with film and film techniques — she is often found painting or drawing her friends and family.

"Miranda has always loved the arts … everything from screen to stage, graphic design to interior design, contemporary arts to the classics," said her mother, Tanya Parker. "She dreams of going to (Savannah College of Art and Design) after graduating. She hopes to study drama and the arts. She would love to do screen work in the near future."
