Members of Local National Guard Unit Expected to be Home for Thanksgiving Holiday
After a year overseas, soldiers with the Army National Guard 1-185th Aviation Regiment are returning to Winder.
The Barrow County News reports soldiers with the Army National Guard 1-185th Aviation Regiment are returning to Winder.
The local paper reports the troops were expected to to be home by today, Nov. 21 — about a month earlier than expected after being deployed last December.
Winder Mayor Chip Thompson and Barrow County Board of Commissioners Chairman Danny Yearwood attended the send-off for the regiment last year.
