Winder residents went to the polls this date in 1962 to vote on a $150,000 school bond issue.

Winder residents went to the polls May 26, 1962, to vote on a $150,000 school bond issue to provide funds for a junior high school and P.E. building for the Glenwood School. The state was set to provide $95,000 toward the building program with the city’s share of $150,000 coming from school bonds. A total of 324 votes were cast with 325 for and 28 against. One ballot was not marked.
