A movie star was set to make an appearance in Barrow County.
The manager of a local theater announced that Charles Starrett, “The Durango Kid,” would appear in person in Barrow County on March 24, 1948. Starrett was a favorite star in western movies at the time and was set to appear with radio and screen favorites The Sunshine Boys. Admission was $.25 and $.50.
