June 19, 1961: Surplus Food

Surplus food was distributed to families of comprised of one to two people June 19, 1961. Families of three to four people were asked to come to the Commodity Warehouse on Athens Street on June 20, followed by families of five or more people June 21. Each recipient certified to receive surplus food in the month of June was asked to reapply for certification.
