June 17, 1962: Fatal Accident

Four Winder youths were involved in an automobile accident June 17, 1962, when the 1961 Chevy Impala in which they were traveling went out of control on a curve, crashed through four posts, rammed a car and crashed into a tree. One of the occupants died 72 hours after the accident as a result of injuries sustained in the crash. The wreck occurred just outside the Winder City limits on Midland Avenue.
