July 6, 1977: It Was a Woman’s World, Too

The local newspaper profiled two women this date in 1977.

The Winder News profiled two women July 6, 1977, the first, Si Longmire, was the sole female superintendent of a state park. Longmire held the position at Fort Yargo. The second woman profiled was Liz Lane, the only female assistant district attorney in the state of Georgia who was also the first female DA in the Piedmont Judicial Circuit.
