July 14, 1982: Fly Problem Resolved

A problem with flies in Auburn had been resolved on this date in 1982.

A problem with flies in Auburn had been resolved, according to an article in the July 14, 1982, issue of The Winder News. The Barrow County Board of Health announced that the fly problem at the Hill Top Subdivision caused by a poultry operation had been taken care of in cooperative efforts between health authorities and the owner, Eulon Wheeler. Wheeler had begun using an internally-administered larvacide and had made efforts to clean out the chicken house to deter an increase in the fly population.
